Setting Up Your Household
Language, Country, Currency, and Timezone
Open Settings from the sidebar. Your household's Language & Region controls the language every page is shown in; Country and Currency control which public holidays appear on your Calendar and which currency your bills are shown in; Timezone controls what “today” means for due dates and reminders across the whole app. All four can be changed independently at any time.
Week Start Day and Time Format
First day of the week controls whether Calendar's month grid and Meal Planner's weekly view start on Sunday or Monday — Flupy suggests one based on your country, but you can change it. Clock style switches every time shown across Family Chat, Calendar, and your session list between 12-hour (2:30pm) and 24-hour (14:30).
Adding Household Members
Scroll to Add a household member. Enter their name, choose whether they're a Child Profile, and give them an email and password if they'll be logging in themselves — a young child's profile can exist purely for assigning tasks and photos to, with no login of their own.
- Click Add a household member.
- Enter their name.
- Choose a role: Account Holder, Member, or Restricted.
- If they'll log in themselves, enter an email address and a password of at least 10 characters.
- Click Save.
Member Roles: Account Holder, Member, and Restricted
Every member has one of three roles:
- Account Holder — full access to every module, plus Settings and Billing. Every household needs at least one, and one can never remove themselves without first handing the role to someone else.
- Member — full access to every module, but no access to Settings or Billing.
- Restricted — access only to the specific modules an Account Holder has switched on for them. Useful for a teenager who should see the Shopping List and Calendar but not the household's Budget.
Giving a Restricted Member Access to Specific Modules
In Settings, each Restricted member has their own row in the module access grid — tick a module to grant it, untick to remove it. Changes take effect immediately, the next time that member loads the page.
Automatic Logout (Idle Timeout)
For security, Flupy can sign a member out automatically after a period of inactivity. Set how many minutes of inactivity (15 to 60), or choose Never, from the Security card in Settings. A warning banner appears shortly before time runs out — any activity (moving the mouse, typing, tapping the screen) resets the clock.
Reminder Emails
Flupy can send one daily email listing anything due soon across Subscriptions & Bills, Maintenance Log, Vehicle Management, and Garden & Plant Care — so nobody has to remember to open the app just to check. It's on by default; untick Send me the daily reminder email in the Reminder emails card in Settings to turn it off.
